Susan
Mayfield began her catering career in the mid-70s working
with different partners and officially launched Susan
Mayfield Catering Company with her oldest daughter,
Nancy, in 1994. The same year youngest daughter Joanie
Filippone joined the family team fresh from college.
After tremendous growth, the company moved to their
present state-of-the-art kitchen in 2000 (the photo
above is the view of Susan Mayfield Catering from Fountain
View).
In
2002, Susan Mayfield Catering won My Table Magazine’s
Caterer of the Year. Joanie, who now runs the company,
has a keen eye for detail, exquisite taste and an impeccable
palate. Her vision and ambition is taking the company
to the next level by launching frozen entree and
appetizer business.
Susan
doesn't exactly sit on the sidelines. She does extensive
recipe testing and research to make sure things don’t
get stale in the kitchen. Spending time with her husband
traveling allows for “culinary continuing education."
She has been known to send post cards with a meal the
two have had out in the middle of nowhere. She will
take an amateur photo at one of the nicest restaurants
to show Joanie what it is supposed to look like!
Located at 2909 Fountainview at Winsome, Susan Mayfield
Catering offices are open Monday through Friday from
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturdays, but call first just
in case the staff is out delivering delicious meals.
